Vintage Boutique, Clothing Consignment, and Shoe Shop by Michelle Morrison
You may know Michelle Morrison's work as a vendor extraordinaire from Lindy Focus. Lucky for us, she's bringing her talents (and beautiful goods) to Cumberland Shuffle!
Starting Friday evening, there will be an on-site clothing boutique & shoe shop open for any of your retail therapy needs during the weekend! Michelle is bringing in vintage clothing & accessories aplenty coupled with a dancers' consignment boutique where you can bring a few of those items collecting dust in your closet and sell them to a fellow Lindy Hopper! Lastly, the shoe shop will feature vintage and dance appropriate footwear as well as offering a professional shoe-sueding service for $15 per pair. The boutique will remain open through Sunday afternoon.
Creations by Crawford: creationsbycrawford.com
Creations by Crawford features custom vintage fashion accessories for men and women. The artist, Sharon Crawford, will have pieces available for purchase at Cumberland Shuffle, such as men's lapel pins and women's hairpieces -- and if you're looking for something specially made to match your outfit, she can do that too! Sharon loves to work with dancers and performers to help them find that perfect piece that they're looking for. Her custom artistry will be a welcome addition to our event! Creations by Crawford will have accessories for sale during Cumberland Shuffle and accepts cash, card, or check as forms of payment.
Forties Forward: fortiesforward.com
Forties Forward is one of Cumberland Shuffle's favorite sources for vintage-inspired accessories, from hair flowers that will stay put and look nice even through a long, late night of dancing, to handmade hats and handbags inspired by the jazz age. Bring along some spending money and catch Forties Forward's table at the event--these ladies (dancers themselves, of course!) will make sure you find the right pin or other ornament to complete your look.
Emily Schuhmann (hair stylist): sites.google.com/emilypatrickvintagedance
For the past 12 years, Emily has collected and put to use a hefty library of traditional techniques and books which she loves to share with dancers and fellow vintage style lovers. In her hometown of Louisville, Emily organizes and runs the Mavens of Mischief, a vintage Charleston/ chorus line/ show girl troupe whose style and glamour is much coveted regionally. She also actively dances and competes around the states at vintage & social swing dance events. She dreams of one day inventing a hair spray that will keep her loose curls in shape without a single bobby pin even on the sweatiest of August-outdoor-lindyhoppin-charleston-320+BPM-dance evenings---but until she achieves this, she keeps her bobby pins hidden, her kicks high, and her style vintage. Check out Emily's recommended hair preparations, here!
Emily will also be available to do individual styling for a nominal fee, but appointments are limited! You can contact us or contact Emily directly for more information.
